Africa, with 1.3 billion inhabitants (17% of the world’s population – 2.6 billion inhabitants by 2050), represents an huge agricultural potential: agriculture still employs 65% of the active population.
It was a great pleasure to present Asserva technologies to the Nigerian delegation. A delegation that came to discover the breeding techniques, the different facilities in pig production as well as the company’s offices of Asserva.
A full morning of learning, organized by the organization BCI – Bretagne Commerce International.
I am from Finistère, from a family of breeders, my parents and today my brother have a pig farm as a farrowing-to-fattener. This family environment guided my training by following a BAC and a BTS prepared with a specialization in pig production. I completed this course with training in international trade at ESA in Angers. After my studies, I wanted to have an experience abroad and I left to work and live in Hungary where I have been living since 2006. Before joining Asserva, I worked for 15 years as an export sales representative for a French company specializing in the manufacture of winemaking equipment. I led and developed the marketing of equipment via a distribution network in a dozen countries.
What is your role today at Asserva?
My new mission will be to help Asserva develop in Central European countries as an export technical sales representative. This region of Europe has interesting potential for Asserva, in fact pig production is very present there, particularly in countries such as Poland, Hungary and Romania where farms are modernizing and automation will be essential in order to improve technical results and deal with the major labor shortage. Asserva currently has little presence in these countries and there is a really interesting challenge to develop and structure our presence in this area.
What does the Asserva group represent for you?
Back to basics! I have always seen Asserva equipment in the family breeding and among the other breeders where I have been. For me, Asserva has always been a reference for feeding and ventilation systems for pig farms. After being away from breeding for a few years, I see that Asserva is still a company strongly focused on innovation, with a very dynamic design office that works with breeders to build the farms of tomorrow.
What qualities do you think are particularly important in your work within the Asserva Group ?
Advice, training and after-sales service for our resellers and customers will be the keys to success in developing Asserva’s presence in these countries in a sustainable manner.
I will be seconded to my area, but that does not mean that I will work alone, I know that I can count on a dedicated and dynamic team to carry out the mission entrusted to me
I graduated a Scientific Baccalaureate then a bac+2 IUT Mechanical and Production Engineering in Rennes. After these two post-baccalaureate years, I joined INSA Rennes, a Mechanical and Automatic Engineering school.
Following my schooling, I joined the international group Naval Group in Brest as Business Manager. A leading European naval defense group. Within the company, my role was to plan and prepare maintenance work for a subset of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarines, while respecting budgetary constraints.
However, despite this first enriching experience both from a professional and personal point of view, I seized the opportunity to get closer to the “family cocoon” by joining the Asserva company last year.
What is your role today at Asserva?
Today at Asserva I am “Studies and Methods manager”. A method service that creates the link between the sales department and the other departments of the company. Here, we register the orders, we study the feasibility and we write PID as well as the assembly plans. We must constantly update the ERP so that the end customer has the right material and documentary resources to carry out the assembly of his project.
We also support the sales department in updating their grids so that the sales representatives carry out costings in a precise and autonomous way.
What qualities do you think are particularly important in your work within the Asserva Group ?
I see 3 main ones: rigor, versatility and being a good communicator.
What do you appreciate the most aboutworking within the Asserva Group ?
What I liked was being able to change projects quite regularly, the missions are diverse and varied, which in itself is very stimulating.
That being said, I also appreciate the inter-departmental proximity to be able to invest myself in a collective project and to see the result of his work is always satisfactory.
Another advantage of the Asserva company lies in its structure and size, which make it a human-sized company with a lot of flexibility and autonomy.
At Asserva, it is finally starting from scratch to develop new concepts, technical and innovative products in an industry that is modernizing. Innovation which is at the heart of the company’s values.
The “bulk” consumption mode is defined by the purchase of products without packaging.
Today, discarded household packaging in France represents 55 kg per capita and per year. An alarming number, which needs to be changed, thanks to this type of concept. It is a small step for mass distribution, a Big step for the 0 waste.
A precursor container
“We thought of an innovative format, practical use, in an approach to waste reduction”.
The container VRACO will be able to propose to the consumers several types of croquettes, for dogs or cats different breeds (sterilized or not).
The croquettes will be stored in hermetic hoppers with a temperature controlled allowing conservation optimal of the products. Connected to the internet via 4G networks the data of the automaton may be consulted by the owners or the merchants in order to have a complete follow-up of purchases and consumption volumes.
We want to offer an experience without packaging that adapts to new consumer trends and it is up to us to ensure that it is satisfactory. VRACO is also a system adapted to a multiplicity of products such as the distribution of pellets or other materials conceivable bulk.
A first stage of the technical documentation has been achieved this year, every product has its own construction guide and operation manual.
We are now working on a second level to share the preventive maintenance and the troubleshooting.
The aim of the following month is to make it accessible from everywhere in the world with the last updated version.
Technical support
Partners now have direct access to the technical support with WhatsApp and Wechat. This gives more reactivity for construction advice and solutions for technical issues.

If I had been told at the end of 2019 that we were going to have such a year 2020, I surely would not have believed it. Of course, 2020 has been an exceptional year in many ways.
Exceptional by the Covid-19 pandemic which has affected the world. And by the different measures taken to try to contain it : the first lockdown in March in France, the second one in November, the wearing of masks and the physical distancing, measures which changed the way we live. Covid-19 has required each of us to show versatility and adaptability at an individual level, it also change the way a company is working. Development of teleworking and videoconferencing, digitization of our processes, use of new remote communication tools, new work organization…
By that, I want to underline your creativity, your responsiveness, your commitment, in the interest of our companies. So that the activity can continue, with as little clash as possible and sometimes at the cost of very importants efforts. That’s why, on behalf of all at Asserva, I want to thank you very sincerely and warmly for what you have been able to accomplish in such a short time. A huge thank you.
To turn now to a more technical aspect, the Asserva company ends 2020 with a sales growth of 6%, which is exceptional for us given the context. We have 2 new flagship products that will be on sale in 2021, we have managed to keep the pace of our innovative projects that we will present to you soon. The situation is obviously not the most satisfactory possible, but we can congratulate ourselves on having delivered the best of ourselves.
2021, is going to be a pivotal year. But a very stimulating one. After having started to digitize our processes, our challenge now is to optimize them so that they are as efficient as possible. Our common objective is to gain in growth, by securing what we already know how to do, and by searching new levers.
It only remains for me to wish you and your loved ones a happy and a healthy new year 2021, and the control of the Covid as soon as possible. At the rate things are going, optimism will become an Olympic discipline, and we will win the Gold medal !
Happy New Year 2021, may this year filled with joy and optimism !
